Lighten the Load
Going through the school day with a learning or processing disorder is like taking a hike with a backpack full of bricks. Students who carry an undetected weight feel tired, frustrated, and not very smart. Many are perceived by parents or teachers as lazy, unmotivated, and lacking desire. My goal is to help each student and family to recognize and understand the weight in the backpack, to diminish that weight as much as possible, and to identify all available strategies and resources to lighten the load.
